    Name: Jeb Denny

New title: Chief medical officer for acute care and monitoring, Medtronic

Previous title: Vice president of medical affairs, urology and critical care, BD

Jeb Denny started at Medtronic on Tuesday in the company’s acute care and monitoring business, which makes pulse oximeters, patient monitors and airway management tools. The segment brought in $1.9 billion in sales in Medtronic’s 2025 fiscal year, which ended in April.

Medtronic had initially planned to spin out its patient monitoring and respiratory interventions business. Instead, last year, the company decided to exit the ventilator market and combine the remaining patient monitoring and respiratory businesses into one unit. The former chief medical officer of acute care and monitoring, Sam Ajizian, left the company after Medtronic called off the spin.

Since then, Medtronic has been filling key positions at the combined unit. In June, the company named Kate Benedict as president of acute care and monitoring.

Denny joins the company from BD, where he led medical affairs for multiple businesses, including urology and critical care, smart connected care and vascular access devices. Prior to his work at BD, Denny was chief medical officer for the Medical Review Institute of America.

Benedict praised Denny’s “relentless dedication to putting patient needs first” in a statement, and said his expertise will be key in accelerating Medtronic’s innovation and growth.

Denny, who is board certified in nephrology and internal medicine, will continue to practice while working at Medtronic. He will spend part of his time working at the Physicians’ Care Clinic in Decatur, Georgia.
