    Name: Jereme Sylvain

New title: Chief operating officer and CFO, Dexcom

    Previous title: CFO, Dexcom

Dexcom said Monday it has made Jereme Sylvain chief operating officer, expanding the executive’s role at the diabetes technology company.

Sylvain joined Dexcom in 2018 and became CFO in 2021. By expanding Sylvain’s role, Dexcom has filled a vacancy created by the promotion of Jake Leach to CEO at the start of 2026. Leach served as president and COO before replacing Kevin Sayer as CEO.

Sayer and Leach both worked as Dexcom COO before becoming CEO. Dexcom named Sayer COO in 2013 and promoted him to CEO in 2015. Leach, who joined Dexcom in 2004, became COO in 2022 and rose to the top job in 2026.

Like his predecessors, Sylvain will oversee global operations as COO. Dexcom has tasked the promoted executive with driving greater alignment, speed and accountability across the company. Sylvain secured the expanded responsibilities after showing “the ability to align and execute cross-functionally” during his time at the company, Dexcom said.

“His deep understanding of our business, operational discipline and customer focus make him the right leader for this expanded role,” Leach said in a statement. “I am confident that Jereme will help us scale more effectively as we advance our goal to empower millions more people to take control of health.”

Scaling the business has been a focus of Leach’s time as CEO. Leach has prioritized expanding global access to the company’s devices. Dexcom’s international sales grew 19% in the second quarter, outpacing the expansion of U.S. revenues and accelerating beyond the growth achieved in the same period of 2025.

Sylvain discussed Dexcom’s international expansion last week at a Wells Fargo event. Global markets are the next big opportunity for Dexcom’s 15-day glucose sensor, Sylvain said. The sensor received clearance in the U.S. last year. Dexcom won approval for the device in Canada in July and is pursuing authorizations in other markets, setting up launches that will provide “a multiyear tailwind to gross margin,” Sylvain said.
