PHILADELPHIA–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Vitable Health, an all-in-one health benefits platform redefining care for the American workforce, today announced a new partnership with DirectShifts, a leading clinician staffing platform, to make it easier for clinicians nationwide to access everyday healthcare and insurance coverage.

This partnership gives all clinicians using DirectShifts—including nurse practitioners, physicians, CRNAs, nurses, behavioral health professionals, and medical assistants—affordable Vitable Primary Care memberships and personalized insurance guidance, ensuring they can conveniently get the care and coverage they need.

Under the program, DirectShifts’ clinicians can enroll in Vitable’s virtual primary care membership for a flat, affordable monthly fee, gaining comprehensive everyday health services with no surprise costs. Members on Vitable Primary Care receive:

    • Unlimited virtual visits with primary care providers
    • No-cost routine labs and 1,000+ free prescription medications at no out-of-pocket cost
    • Preventive and chronic care services, including annual wellness visits and health coaching
    • No copays or deductibles, making every visit and service fully covered
    • Licensed benefits advisors to help find the right individual insurance plan and guide them through enrollment

“Healthcare professionals deserve care that’s accessible, flexible, and built around their lives,” said Joseph Kitonga, CEO of Vitable Health. “These professionals dedicate their careers to caring for others, yet too often they face hurdles in accessing care for themselves. By partnering with DirectShifts, we’re ensuring these clinicians can easily get the care and coverage they deserve, on their own terms.”

Even as frontline providers, many medical professionals struggle with personal healthcare needs. Research shows that U.S. healthcare workers have significantly higher rates of chronic health conditions than other workers.

Moreover, a study published by Occupational Medicine found that 53% of physicians reported trouble getting time or access to personal healthcare, and another study in the Annals of Translational Medicine found that nearly half of nurses engaged in self-treatment for their illnesses—and even self-prescribing medications—instead of consulting a physician for their ailments.

These trends underscore the need for convenient, affordable primary care tailored to healthcare providers.

Through the Vitable Health and DirectShifts partnership, clinicians across all 50 states can now better look after their own health. By removing cost and access barriers, the program empowers them to catch up on preventive care, manage chronic conditions, and seek medical advice without worrying about fees or insurance red tape.

This support structure not only benefits their well-being, but also enables them to continue delivering high-quality care to patients with greater peace of mind.

“Clinicians spend their lives caring for others, yet far too many struggle to access basic care for themselves,” said Sai Kumar Thumuluru, CEO of DirectShifts. “National data shows that more than one in three healthcare workers delay or skip medical visits because of cost, time pressure, or burnout. With over 100,000 clinicians using DirectShifts across the country, we see this challenge every day. Our partnership with Vitable Health gives clinicians convenient and affordable access to the care they need to stay healthy, supported, and able to keep delivering exceptional care to their patients. When clinicians thrive, the entire healthcare system gets stronger.”

Both companies emphasize a mission-driven approach to improving healthcare access. DirectShifts has focused on addressing the complexity of the medical industry by streamlining the process of connecting clinicians to jobs. Vitable Health has focused on expanding access to high-quality, affordable care for caregivers and hourly workers.

The partnership unites these philosophies to tackle a critical gap: ensuring that the caregivers who serve patients every day are not left behind in accessing care for themselves.
