Round co-led by Abstract and Lightspeed follows 15× growth and more than 300,000 weekly users in under a year

NEW YORK–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Doctronic, the first AI system legally authorized to practice medicine in the United States, today announced a $40 million Series B round co-led by Abstract and Lightspeed Venture Partners, with participation from existing investors including Union Square Ventures, Seven Stars, Mantis, and Tusk Ventures. The financing—Doctronic’s third round in less than 12 months—brings total funding to more than $65 million.

The funding follows a period of exceptional growth. In less than six months since closing the Series A, Doctronic has grown 15x to 8-figure annualized revenue, while nearly tripling repeat patient rate. Doctronic now sees more than 300,000 unique weekly visitors. In December, the company became the first AI-native platform to autonomously renew prescriptions under Utah’s AI Learning Lab regulatory sandbox. Doctronic now serves health systems, payers, and employers through cobranded digital health partnerships while maintaining its direct-to-consumer platform used by millions nationwide.

“Doctronic proved what we believed from the start: AI can deliver better healthcare outcomes at scale,” said Ramtin Naimi, Partner at Abstract. “The Utah program validated their clinical rigor. The revenue growth validated market demand. What sets them apart is the courage to take responsibility for outcomes—not just provide information. That’s the future of healthcare.”

Lightspeed Venture Partners, which led Doctronic’s Series A, doubled down on the investment. “The combination of user traction, revenue momentum, and partnerships with major health systems makes it clear: Doctronic is the breakout leader in AI-powered medicine,” said Faraz Fatemi, Partner at Lightspeed. “They’ve built autonomous AI that integrates safely into real clinical workflows and brings in real patient context—uniquely delivering on the treatment through triage vision at an unmatched scale.”

Founded by Dr. Adam Oskowitz and Matt Pavelle, Doctronic built the first AI system trusted to make clinical decisions autonomously. In December, the company launched prescription renewal services in Utah, allowing patients to receive medication refills directly via AI without a physician intermediary. The program handles 190 medications and operates under strict safety protocols including automatic 24/7 escalation to licensed physicians for complex cases.

“This round reflects Doctronic’s category leadership: unmatched consumer scale and a best-in-class AI clinical model,” said Pavelle. “Health systems see us as infrastructure, the digital front door that routes their patients efficiently and keeps care in-network. Payers see us as unlimited primary care at predictable cost. This round lets us push further into academic medical centers, digital health platforms, and payers, while continuing to serve millions of consumers directly.”

Doctronic operates its own clinical practice, licensed in all 50 states, HIPAA-compliant, and available 24/7. With direct access to patient records via QHIN/TEFCA, medication history through Surescripts, and drug interaction screening through First Databank, its compounding data advantage and multi-agent model underpin category-leading clinical performance.

The Series B will expand partnerships with hospital systems, academic institutions, digital health platforms, and payers. It will also fund expansion into pediatrics, where consumer demand far outpaces access.

“We’re not just faster and cheaper than traditional care — we’re more thorough,” said Dr. Oskowitz. “Our AI performs dozens of safety checks per prescription renewal that would take a human physician an hour. The 99.2% treatment alignment rate isn’t theoretical; it’s from real patients in real clinical scenarios. But what I’m most proud of is retention. Since the Series A, monthly repeat physician visits have nearly tripled. Patients aren’t just trying us, they’re coming back.”

Doctronic is in active discussions with regulators in other states and governments to expand AI prescription services beyond Utah. The company’s partnerships now include major health systems, third-party administrators, and self-insured employers.

Unlike general-purpose AI assistants that provide health information, Doctronic takes responsibility for clinical outcomes. The platform operates on a collective intelligence architecture where multiple specialized AI agents conduct structured clinical reasoning under physician oversight. Each interaction enriches a proprietary dataset that continuously improves diagnostic precision and treatment accuracy. And where the Doctronic AI is practicing medicine independently, such as in Utah, Doctronic has a first-of-its-kind AI medical malpractice insurance.

Doctronic is available 24/7 through its website and mobile apps. AI consultations are always free and deliver patients four potential diagnoses, treatment plans, and clinically formatted documentation for them to use anywhere. If patients choose, Doctronic licensed physicians are also available 24/7 for video visits for an insurance copay or only $39.
