Marvel × Insulet team up to turn diabetes tech into superhero power

In a bold move to reshape how chronic conditions appear in pop culture, Marvel Comics and Insulet Corporation have joined forces to launch Dyasonic—a new superhero whose powers are grounded in real-world diabetes technology.

    The official launch

Unvelied on 11th of June 2025, Dyasonic tells the story of Omnya, a determined young woman living with type 1 diabetes who uses the Omnipod 5 insulin delivery system. Rather than simply managing her condition, Omnya transforms it into a superpower. Motivated by her wearable device, she designs a pair of gloves that harness sonic frequencies, enabling her to become Dyasonic—a hero who uses sound to protect and uplift others.

A Story Grounded in Real Experience

Marvel veteran Paul Allor wrote the comic, drawing from his own experience living with type 1 diabetes. His personal journey brings depth and authenticity to the narrative, ensuring Dyasonic represents more than just another superhero—she embodies resilience, innovation, and identity.

Representation matters,” Allor said in a statement. “When people with diabetes see themselves reflected in powerful, positive ways, it changes how they view their own story.

More Than a Comic—A Cultural Statement

Dyasonic’s release marks a key part of Insulet’s broader initiative to amplify the voices of those living with diabetes. According to a company-conducted survey, 94% of people with type 1 diabetes believe media representation is important—yet over half report they rarely see themselves portrayed.

Through this partnership with Marvel, Insulet isn’t just highlighting its technology. It’s also actively reshaping outdated narratives around chronic illness. The comic seeks to inspire young readers, inform the broader public, and normalize medical devices as part of everyday life.

Additionally, Insulet is collaborating with Children with Diabetes to give back to the community. For every Instagram story featuring a Dyasonic sticker, the company pledges $1—up to $25,000—to support scholarships for the Friends For Life Orlando conference. This initiative aims to combat stigma, empower voices, and highlight the transformative role of technology.

A New Era of Health-Inspired Heroes

Dyasonic is part of a growing wave of health-focused storytelling that merges entertainment with empowerment. Across gaming, film, and graphic novels, digital health companies are increasingly turning to creative media to connect with patients in more meaningful ways.

As the line between healthcare and culture continues to fade, Dyasonic emerges as a powerful reminder: technology doesn’t merely manage disease—it redefines what it means to be strong.
