    What You Should Know:

    – Philips and Methodist Hospitals have announced a strategic investment by the healthcare provider into Philips’ portfolio of image-guided therapy (IGT) solutions.

    – The collaboration will bring advanced imaging systems, software, and specialized devices to Methodist Hospitals, supporting critical community health needs such as active stroke treatment, complex cardiovascular interventions, and oncology therapies.

    Upgrading Interventional Capabilities

Methodist Hospitals will implement several state-of-the-art solutions from Philips to enhance its treatment capabilities. This includes the installation of a Philips Azurion biplane system, which is designed to improve and accelerate minimally invasive treatments for both routine and complex procedures, including active stroke intervention. Additionally, the health system will standardize its cardiovascular care with two single-plane labs and utilize a multi-purpose lab for complex cardiovascular and interventional radiology procedures.

The Philips Azurion system has been demonstrated to boost operational and clinical efficiency in the interventional suite while upholding high standards of care and staff satisfaction. This includes a 17% reduction in procedure time, which allows for the potential to treat one additional patient per day.

The Philips Azurion Image-Guided Therapy System incorporates FlexArm and ClarityIQ technology, which provides high-quality imaging with reduced X-ray dosage. This system enhances workflow and leads to more efficient turnaround times, increasing clinical confidence. All compatible applications can be controlled from a single touchscreen at the tableside, helping clinicians make quick, informed decisions while maintaining a sterile environment.

Methodist Hospitals will also leverage Philips’ IntraSight with SyncVision for IVUS imaging and other tools to simplify complex interventions and speed up routine procedures

“Having leading edge health technology is crucial to delivering on our mission to be the best place for employees to work, for patients to receive care and for physicians to practice medicine,” said Matt Doyle, President & Chief Executive Officer of Methodist Hospitals. “Philips’ trusted solutions will empower us to deliver exceptional care to our patients close to home.”
