Dr. Carney, who currently serves as Chief Executive Officer of Magellan Health, brings deep clinical and executive leadership in both behavioral health and primary care.

Dr. Carney is a board-certified internist and board-certified psychiatrist who continues to provide clinical care at a federally qualified health center while leading Magellan Health. She has authored or co-authored over 100 publications on comorbid medical and behavioral health conditions and is a recognized expert on integrated care delivery. Prior to joining Magellan in 2016, she served as Medical Director for the Indiana Office of Medicaid Policy and Planning, where she helped launch the state’s Medicaid expansion and behavioral health transformation.
