What You Should Know
- UltraSight™, a pioneer in AI-guided cardiac ultrasound workflows, announced it raised $24M in Series B2 financing.
- Alive HealthTech Growth Fund led the funding round, with co-investment from Deep Insight, Star51 Capital, Connecticut Innovations, and eHealth Ventures, and participation from existing clinical and venture stakeholders, including Mayo Clinic Ventures, NYU, and Iron Nation.
- Proceeds will fund the U.S. commercial expansion of the UltraSight Echosystem and accelerate specialized engineering of acute cardiac workflows tailored to the intensive care unit (ICU) and mechanical circulatory support environments.
- The platform addresses persistent national healthcare staffing constraints: by combining real-time computer vision guidance, structured training, and automated analytics, the FDA 510(k)-cleared platform enables non-sonographer clinicians (including ICU nurses, hospitalists, and emergency physicians) to capture diagnostic-grade echocardiography windows under physician oversight.
Capital Deployment: Expanding Acute Workflows and Commercial Footprint
The newly secured capital will fund the commercial expansion of the UltraSight Echosystem platform across U.S. health systems, while accelerating workflow development tailored specifically for intensive care units and mechanical circulatory support settings. These time-sensitive environments—where patients often depend on ventricular assist devices (VADs) or extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO)—rely on immediate imaging to guide clinical interventions. Building upon an existing FDA 510(k) clearance that uses real-time visual prompts to guide operators into standard 2D echo planes, UltraSight is currently active across more than 10 commercial sites.
Clinical Evidence: Automated Aortic Stenosis Detection
The financing also builds on clinical validation published in JAMA Cardiology on August 28, 2026. In the study, novice operators using UltraSight’s AI guidance successfully acquired diagnostic-grade images for automated detection of moderate-or-greater aortic stenosis, achieving 93% sensitivity and 96% specificity. This demonstrates that frontline staff can reliably capture diagnostic acoustic windows to surface structural heart conditions earlier in the care journey.
Governance and Executive Appointments
UltraSight also announced key leadership and board appointments bringing deep cardiovascular device and commercialization experience:
- Rick Geoffrion appointed Chairman of the Board: Geoffrion brings over 30 years of medical device leadership across interventional cardiology and mechanical circulatory support.
- New Board Members: Joining the board are Dudi Klein (Co-Founder and Managing Partner, Alive HealthTech Growth Fund), Tal Wenderow (Founding Managing Partner, Star51 Capital; co-founder of Corindus Vascular Robotics), and Barak Ben-Eliezer (Managing Partner, Deep Insight).
De-Skilling Acquisition While Preserving Interpretation
Strategically, UltraSight’s model tackles the healthcare labor deficit by decoupling image acquisition from specialized sonography while keeping physician interpretation intact. By focusing AI on guiding probe manipulation rather than claiming autonomous diagnosis, the platform lowers technical hurdles for frontline staff, integrates cleanly into existing billing structures, and expands rapid cardiac imaging access to community and acute care facilities that lack round-the-clock sonographer coverage.
“We are entering this next stage as our FDA-cleared portfolio continues to expand to support broader cardiac imaging workflows,” said Davidi Vortman, CEO and Co-Founder of UltraSight. “This financing will help our efforts to translate that momentum into wider market adoption, deeper strategic collaborations and greater access to high-quality cardiac ultrasound – expediting care for patients who simply cannot afford to wait.”
