    What You Should Know

    • FGV Capital (the venture arm of FGV, formerly known as Fiat Ventures) announced the final close of its $35M Fund II (inclusive of co-investment vehicles), oversubscribed from its initial $25M target.
    • Fund II brings the firm’s total assets under management (AUM) to more than $60 million across its early-stage investment platform.
    • Co-founded and led by Marcos Fernandez, Drew Glover, Alex Harris, and Rohit Ramkumar, the firm focuses on early-stage seed and pre-seed rounds at the intersection of financial technology, financial access, healthtech, and AI innovation.
    • Alongside the fund close, the firm unveiled a unified brand architecture, bringing growth consultancy Fiat Growth and investment arm Fiat Ventures under the single FGV umbrella brand.

Full-Stack Distribution, Institutional LP Syndicates, and AI-Driven Growth

Over the past decade, traditional venture firms raised multi-billion-dollar mega-funds, relying on financial engineering and ownership markups while outsourcing go-to-market execution to portfolio founders. However, in the current deployment phase of artificial intelligence and vertical fintech, raw capital is no longer a sustainable differentiator.

As foundation models commoditize basic software engineering, the primary failure mode for early-stage startups is no longer building a prototype—it is securing scalable distribution, acquiring customers cost-effectively, and navigating complex regulatory and capital-market partnerships.

Founders building at the intersection of financial services, healthcare, and applied AI require operating partners who can engineer defensible go-to-market pipelines directly into their commercial stack. FGV Capital’s Fund II pairs institutional capital with hands-on operational scaling across financial services and digital health:

    • Reverse-Engineered Platform Architecture: Unlike conventional funds that construct advisory services after raising capital, FGV established its growth consultancy (Fiat Growth) in 2018, having supported more than 325 companies in generating billions of dollars in revenue across D2C acquisition, B2B enterprise sales pipelines, and B2B2C distribution partnerships.
    • Institutional LP Base: Fund II brings together premier global financial institutions and strategic networks, including Reinsurance Group of America (RGA), MassMutual, Bank of America, and the Stellar Development Foundation, providing portfolio companies with direct enterprise partnership and distribution channels.
    • Integrated GTM & Strategic Finance Engine: Backed companies receive operational support spanning full-funnel performance marketing, regulatory and compliance structuring, embedded talent recruitment, and strategic fractional finance.
    • Focused Application-Layer Mandate: Targets early-stage companies applying generative AI and proprietary data models to vertical workflows—spanning embedded fintech, insurtech, financial inclusion infrastructure, and digital health.
    • Proven Portfolio Velocity: Across Fund I, Fund II, and special purpose co-investment vehicles, FGV Capital has deployed capital into over 40 startups—including Splitero, Brellium, Trellis, Sunfish, Possible Finance, and Wagmo—surpassing $60 million in total firm AUM.

“Fund I showed that our model can consistently win access to top founders and create meaningful value for them,” said Marcos Fernandez, Co-Founder and Managing Partner at FGV Capital. “With Fund II, we’re applying that approach at institutional scale. We’re leading and co-leading more rounds, structuring transactions, and demonstrating that the real winners need a partner with a differentiated platform, deep operating experience, and a relentless focus on founder outcomes.”
