Healthcare has always been about people, from the researcher chasing a breakthrough, the student finding their path and the clinician at the bedside. Technology serves all of them quietly and reliably and AI is now helping boost what is possible.

Across the country, Dell Technologies is working with health systems, research enterprises, life sciences companies and community programs to accelerate discovery, develop the care teams of tomorrow and, ultimately, deliver better care.

    Artificial intelligence changes what’s possible

AI use cases are being explored across the sector and the organizations getting there fastest share a common thread: the right infrastructure foundation. Dell’s AI Factory gives healthcare organizations the path to scale AI securely, with integrated data management, compliance support and an open partner ecosystem.

At Dell Technologies World in May, we saw this come to life. Eli Lilly & Company shared how AI and technology can be a key lever for closing the gap between a scientific breakthrough and a medicine that reaches a patient.

Additionally, the Eonis Vision solution, comprising Avatar Medical Vision software and the Barco Eonis 3D display, powered by Dell Pro Precision workstations and NVIDIA RTX PRO GPU acceleration, showcased how advanced computing is transforming the way clinicians and patients experience medical imaging together. By converting standard CT and MRI scans into interactive, patient-specific 3D anatomy that can be viewed without headsets or specialized glasses, Eonis Vision helps improve patient understanding and supports more informed conversations at the point of care.

    Infrastructure that keeps care moving

Beth Israel Lahey Health is expanding its research computing infrastructure with a Dell High Performance Computing (HPC) cluster featuring advanced compute, processing power that accelerates research at a scale not previously possible and expanded storage. The priority: accelerating precision medicine, transforming clinical trial recruitment through AI and expanding access to innovative therapies across oncology, neurology, cardiology and infectious disease.

At the University of Pittsburgh, the Department of Pathology’s Computational Pathology and AI Center of Excellence (CPACE) will be using Dell servers and storage systems with an aim to detect and diagnose disease earlier, more accurately and at greater scale, accelerating AI-assisted tissue analysis and moving research discoveries into clinical practice more quickly.

Lastly, DispatchHealth delivers hospital-level care directly to patients’ homes across more than 20 states. To support clinicians in the field, the organization uses Dell Pro Rugged AI PCs with 5G connectivity, providing durable, always-connected access to patient information in unpredictable environments. The result: real-time patient data access, streamlined workflows and projected cost savings of more than $1.5 million over three years.

Building the next generation of healthcare talent

Preparing the next generation of healthcare talent to make the most of evolving tools like AI is just as important as building them. Innovation in healthcare doesn’t start in the data center. It starts with people – and that also means investing in the next generation of healthcare talent.

Dell is proud to support Boston Children’s Hospital’s COACH Internship Program (Community Opportunities and Advancement at Children’s Hospital), now in its 19th year. COACH provides paid internships for Boston youth across clinical, research, administrative and operational roles. By supplying modern laptops and accessories, Dell helps ensure every intern can fully participate in digital workflows, cloud-based systems and virtual collaboration from day one. This month, around 90 interns will gather for their next development day – another step towards building a modern, digitally ready healthcare workforce.

Building the future of healthcare, together

Across every one of these collaborations, the thread is the same: technology matters most when it starts with the outcome, whether that is a faster diagnosis, a student who finds their path, a researcher who finds the cure or a patient who feels informed and comfortable.

Dell is committed to helping healthcare organizations get there, reliably, securely and at the scale that human progress demands. And as AI continues to reshape what’s possible, we’re committed to ensuring every organization, from the largest academic health system to the smallest community clinic, can harness it with confidence.
