At one of the largest medical device events of the year, attendees met to discuss the latest developments in a year marked by high-profile cyberattacks and questions about artificial intelligence regulations.
At AdvaMed’s The MedTech Conference, more than 4,000 company leaders, regulators and innovators met in Boston.
Hot topics included AI, cybersecurity, M&A, supply chain and a challenging economy. Medtech executives said to expect more portfolio trimming and tuck-in acquisitions as companies face limited resources. They also shared how they are retooling their supply chains amid on-and-off tariffs.
Meanwhile, device leaders with the Food and Drug Administration signaled that medtech firms should watch for guidance on generative AI, and shared an update on hiring for the Center for Devices and Radiological Health and other priorities.
