Radiology Partners to Acquire Everlight Radiology, Creating a Global Leader in Teleradiology

    What You Should Know

    • Radiology Partners, Inc. (RP) has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Everlight Radiology, a major international teleradiology provider serving hospitals and imaging centers across the United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, and South Africa.
    • The transaction unifies Everlight’s global network with RP Clinical Services’ vRad (Virtual Radiologic) division—the largest teleradiology practice in the United States—forming an international clinical teleradiology platform.
    • Everlight operates a proprietary “follow-the-sun” model, utilizing a network of over 800 consultant radiologists across 40+ countries who interpret more than 2.5 million exams annually for 340+ healthcare organizations during their local daylight hours.
    • Radiology Partners serves more than 3,400 U.S. hospitals and health systems, backed by vRad’s proprietary technology platform (25 patents and 25+ clinical AI models) and Mosaic Clinical Technologies, whose MosaicOS™ and Mosaic Drafting vision-language models will be extended to Everlight radiologists subject to regional regulatory clearances.

Radiology Partners Acquires Everlight Radiology to Form Global Follow-the-Sun Teleradiology Network

Hospitals and emergency departments worldwide are running into a relentless math problem: patient scan volumes are skyrocketing, but the pool of trained radiologists available to read them is barely budging.

In the UK, where CT and MRI orders grew by 9% over the past year, the consultant workforce crept up by under 5%, leaving NHS Trusts short thousands of doctors. A similar dynamic has played out in Australia, where imaging demand has surged 40% over the last decade. The pressure is sharpest during overnight, weekend, and holiday shifts, when emergency trauma and stroke cases flood in and local on-call rosters are stretched thin.

To build an around-the-clock pipeline that can handle that load, U.S. radiology giant Radiology Partners (RP) has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Everlight Radiology. The cross-border acquisition connects Everlight’s international network with RP’s vRad platform, creating a massive “follow-the-sun” diagnostic network spanning North America, Europe, Oceania, and Africa.

Trading Night Shifts for Daytime Coverage

The core of the strategy is simple: turn one hospital’s graveyard shift into another doctor’s normal workday.

Everlight coordinates more than 800 consultant radiologists spread across 40-plus countries. When an urgent scan comes in at 2:00 AM in London, Dublin, or Sydney, it is routed to a fully credentialed specialist working during regular daylight hours on the other side of the world. That removes the fatigue and diagnostic error risks that come with nocturnal shifts while dramatically speeding up turnaround times for critical emergency departments.

Alongside the operational merger, RP is equipping Everlight’s global team with its proprietary imaging intelligence software, MosaicOS. That suite features Mosaic Drafting—a vision-language AI tool developed by RP’s Mosaic Clinical Technologies division that analyzes scans and generates pre-drafted structured reports for the radiologist to review, refine, and sign off on.

    Scale and Regulatory Guardrails

The combined numbers give the group significant leverage across hospital systems:

    • Footprint: Connects RP’s network of over 3,400 U.S. facilities with Everlight’s base of 340-plus international client hospitals.
    • Physician Network: Pairs vRad’s 500-plus U.S. board-certified radiologists with Everlight’s 800-plus global consultants.
    • Volume: Unifies a platform that has interpreted studies for 120 million patients domestically with Everlight’s run-rate of 2.5 million annual international reads.

Both groups confirmed that local licensing and credentialing guardrails will remain strictly partitioned, ensuring doctors only report on patient scans from regions where they hold valid medical licenses.

“Everlight and Radiology Partners have each built something rare in radiology,” said Rich Whitney, Chairman and CEO of Radiology Partners. “Everlight has an unmatched global network of subspecialty radiologists, built over 20 years. RP has likewise spent many years in teleradiology and built the clinical infrastructure and technology that supports radiologists at scale. Together, we can bring the best of what each has built to a growing number of patients and hospitals.”
