H1 and Novo Nordisk Partner to Advance AI-Driven Clinical Development

    What You Should Know

    • Healthcare data and AI platform H1 announced a strategic partnership with global pharmaceutical leader Novo Nordisk to modernize clinical trial development.
    • Under the agreement, H1 will acquire rights to further advance StudyHub, Novo Nordisk’s proprietary digital and AI-enabled platform for clinical trial execution.
    • The collaboration combines H1’s global Doctor Graph and AI-ready datasets with Novo Nordisk’s clinical trial operations to optimize protocol design, site selection, and patient enrollment.
    • The partnership aims to accelerate cycle times from discovery to drug approval while addressing operational inefficiencies across complex chronic disease trial portfolios.
    • This deal reflects a growing biopharma trend of co-developing and commercializing internal pharma tech IP through external specialized AI data infrastructure providers.

Bypassing Site Selection Bottlenecks: H1 Acquires Rights to Novo Nordisk’s StudyHub

H1 and Novo Nordisk have entered a strategic partnership to accelerate clinical trial execution and streamline drug development workflows. Under the agreement, Novo Nordisk will integrate H1’s healthcare data platform into its clinical operations, while H1 will acquire the commercial rights to further develop and scale StudyHub, Novo Nordisk’s proprietary digital trial platform.

Selecting trial sites, recruiting diverse patient cohorts, and managing multi-center protocols remain major bottlenecks in biopharmaceutical R&D, often adding years to regulatory timelines and driving up trial costs. By commercializing StudyHub, H1 aims to transition an internal pharmaceutical tool into an industry-wide platform for site selection and study management.

The collaboration embeds H1’s Doctor Graph—a structured intelligence network tracking physician expertise, clinical research history, and referral patterns—directly into trial planning. By pairing these datasets with automated workflows, the platform helps sponsors evaluate protocol feasibility, identify high-performing investigative sites, and speed up participant enrollment.

H1 also plans to layer agentic AI into the platform to automate routine administrative tasks across the trial lifecycle, aiming to reduce overall development cycle times from protocol design through regulatory submission.

“In this age of AI, the way clinical trials should be executed needs to change,” said Ariel Katz, CEO of H1. “We are proud to partner with Novo Nordisk to enhance innovation in their clinical trials and to play an important part to bring their life-changing drugs to patients quicker.”
