Cognitive impairment affects 32% of adults over 65, impacting 250 million people globally. Despite the proven benefits of cognitive rehabilitation therapy—often referred to as “physical therapy for the brain”—fewer than 20% of patients are accessing this treatment in outpatient settings.
Moneta Health addresses this gap with a program that eliminates the need for apps or a high-speed internet connection. Patients engage with a licensed therapist by phone and perform cognitive exercises between visits with an AI-powered therapy assistant by phone.
The company has already demonstrated strong clinical outcomes:
- Patients’ cognitive function significantly improved by 18% on average over the course of the program.
- This result exceeds the U.S. national benchmark of 13% for traditional outpatient therapy.
Expanding Access in Underserved Regions
The partnership with Benefis Health System is crucial for expanding care in rural areas.
