Zocdoc and Google Partner to Enable Agentic Booking Inside Gemini

    What You Should Know

    • Zocdoc has officially partnered with Google as the Gemini app’s first health appointments connected apps partner, enabling agentic, real-time appointment scheduling.
    • Google Gemini users (ages 18+ in the US) can search for and book appointments across Zocdoc’s network of over 200,000 providers, 200+ specialties, and 10,000+ insurance plans.
    • Providers currently listed on Zocdoc are automatically enabled on Google Gemini without requiring additional software integrations.
    • While the national average wait time to see a physician exceeds 31 days, Zocdoc-powered bookings typically connect patients to care within 24 to 72 hours.

Closing the Gap Between AI Search and Care Access

Zocdoc and Google have launched the Gemini app’s first health appointments connected app, bringing agentic appointment booking directly into Gemini. The integration allows U.S. users aged 18 and older to search real-time provider availability and complete bookings natively within conversational interactions, bypassing traditional directory sites, external portal logins, and phone calls.

While patients increasingly turn to AI for symptom evaluation and health inquiries, turning conversational guidance into actual medical appointments has historically required exiting the interface and managing multi-step scheduling. The Zocdoc integration establishes a transactional bridge between generative AI search and medical practice management systems:

    • Agentic Scheduling Engine: Enables Gemini users to query care needs in natural language, compare real-time provider openings, and book in-person or virtual appointments within the chat interface.
    • Network & Specialty Coverage: Connects directly to Zocdoc’s infrastructure, spanning over 200,000 healthcare providers, 200+ clinical specialties, and 10,000+ accepted insurance plans.
    • Automatic Provider Enablement: Clinicians already listed on the Zocdoc network are automatically integrated into Gemini searches with zero additional setup or practice IT overhead.
    • Time-to-Care Acceleration: Connects patient intent directly to available clinical calendar slots, supporting Zocdoc’s 24 to 72-hour average time-to-appointment compared to the ~31-day U.S. national average wait time.

“Patients are increasingly starting their health journeys with AI, and this collaboration makes it easier for Gemini app users to find the care that they need, when they need it,” said Oliver Kharraz, MD, Founder and CEO of Zocdoc. “We are proud to partner with Gemini as Zocdoc begins to power access to care everywhere.”
