    Wheel x b. well

    What You Should Know

    • Strategic Collaboration: Wheel and b.well Connected Health have announced a strategic partnership to create a turnkey infrastructure for AI-native and consumer-driven healthcare experiences.
    • Platform Integration: The collaboration integrates b.well’s consumer health data and access infrastructure with Wheel’s Horizon™ platform, which handles clinical delivery and nationwide clinician operations.
    • Overcoming the Action Wall: The combined offering addresses the operational bottleneck in virtual care where data records or AI answers fail to translate into actual clinical visits, prescriptions, or follow-ups.
    • Initial Availability: Initial availability is expected through Wheel Clinic, which is currently featured in Walmart’s Better Care Services marketplace.
    • Clinical Scope: The infrastructure supports scalable B2B and DTC virtual care programs across cardiometabolic health, GLP-1 care, women’s health, primary care, urgent care, and emerging Medicare Bridge models.

Modern healthcare is flooded with data from wearables, retail pharmacies, and digital health interfaces, yet possessing a health record is not the same as receiving care. Wheel and b.well are addressing this “Action Gap” by linking longitudinal health context directly to a clinical delivery layer. This partnership allows organizations—including retailers, payers, and life sciences companies—to move from patient insight to clinical execution without building a full technology stack from scratch.

Michelle Davey, CEO of Wheel, noted that the winners in the consumer health race will be the companies that can turn health context into “clinical action, pharmacy access, and outcomes”.

Closing the Loop: Data Refinery to Clinical Action

Historically, the patient journey has been fragmented across disconnected systems, leading to administrative confusion and a “guessing game” for consumers navigating portals and clinicians. The Wheel and b.well infrastructure is designed to bring these disparate pieces into a single, modular flow:

    • Longitudinal Records: b.well cleanses and standardizes fragmented data through its proprietary Data Refinery using FHIR® standards.
    • Consumer-Authorized Access: The platform provides identity matching, consent management, and semantic interoperability.
    • The Clinical Action Layer: Wheel provides the nationwide clinician network, prescribing workflows, and patient support.
    • Pharmacy Coordination: The infrastructure supports real-time pharmacy workflows to ensure prescriptions move seamlessly from insight to fulfillment.

Scaling Virtual Care Through the “Front Door”

The partnership aims to become the definitive “health front door” for major consumer brands. By utilizing b.well’s access infrastructure and Wheel’s program execution, brands can offer high-quality care that feels native to their existing experience.

This is particularly critical for complex care journeys like GLP-1 management and cardiometabolic health, where ongoing follow-up and outcome measurement are essential for long-term clinical success. The modular, standards-based approach ensures that as federal requirements for interoperability evolve, the underlying infrastructure remains compliant and scalable.
